About Blake Nathaniel
Blake Nathaniel Dore earned his J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in 2004. He completed his legal training in Portland and moved into practice in the Pacific Northwest soon after. His education laid a foundation in courtroom procedure and appellate briefing, skills he would use throughout his career.
His early years in practice included time as a defense lawyer at Vancouver Defenders in 2006. That role placed him in front of juries and in busy municipal calendars. He returned to private practice under his own name by 2011 and then took on a co-ownership role at Doré Long, LLC in 2012. In 2013 he established Dore Law Office, LLC and has run that firm since, shaping the office around trial work and appellate matters.
Dore holds admissions in Washington, Oregon, and the Federal Circuit. He maintains memberships in professional organizations, including the American Bar Association and the Washington Defenders Association since 2007. He also held membership in the Washington Committee on Diversity in 2009. Those connections reflect years spent working inside public defense networks and bar forums.
Colleagues describe Dore as methodical in court. He prepares evidence and witnesses with attention to detail. He has represented clients in state trial courts and has litigated matters that required federal filings. The combination of trial experience and Federal Circuit admission suggests an ability to handle work that moves between trial and appellate stages. He has handled arraignments, motions practice, hearings, and trials, and he remains engaged in matters that require courtroom presence.
Outside the courtroom he manages the day-to-day operations of his Portland office. He balances casework with the administrative responsibilities of running a small firm. That includes supervising staff and directing case strategy for clients who require representation in both state and federal venues. He keeps an office in Portland that serves the region.
Over more than a decade in practice he has returned repeatedly to litigation and defense work. His path runs from public defender roles to private practice and firm ownership. He continues to practice from his Portland office and handles litigation and appellate matters in Washington, Oregon, and federal courts.
