Billie Tarascio is a family law attorney based in Mesa, Arizona, specializing in divorce and family law matters. She was admitted to the Arizona State Bar in 2005 and the Oregon State Bar in 2003. She is the founder and owner of Modern Law, a multi-location family law firm known for its innovative approaches to client service, technology integration, and firm culture. Under her leadership, Modern Law has grown to include offices in Mesa, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Yuma, Peoria, and Tucson, Arizona. The firm's Mesa office is located at 1744 S. After earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Oregon School of Law in 2003, Tarascio began her legal career in Oregon. She worked at the Department of Justice, Family Law Division, and clerked at the Lane County Juvenile Court under Justice Kip Leonard. In 2008, she founded Modern Law with the goal of making legal services more accessible and affordable for clients. Her firm focuses exclusively on divorce and family law, handling complex custody and property division cases. Tarascio is recognized for her contributions to the legal field. She has been named an ABA Journal Legal Rebel and received the 2018 Reisman Award for Law Firm Innovation.
She is also a frequent speaker on legal innovation, firm growth strategy, access to justice, leadership, and the ethical use of technology in law. In January 2026, she presented a State Bar of Arizona CLE titled "From Typewriters to Transformers: Implementing Tools to Save You Time and Increase Revenue." In addition to her practice, Tarascio has been involved in various legal organizations. She served as Chair of the State Bar of Arizona’s Legal Tech Committee and is a member of the Board of Nonlawyer Legal Service Providers. She has also been a member of the Maricopa County Bar Association and the Oregon State Bar. Tarascio is the author of "Decode Your Divorce" and co-author of "Tiger Tactics: Powerful Strategies for Winning Attorneys." She also hosts the Modern Arizona Podcast. She explores leadership, law, and life through conversations with professionals who make difficult decisions that shape families, businesses, and communities.
In her personal life, Tarascio is a mother of four and a dual citizen of the U.S. and Italy. She enjoys traveling, especially to Italy, and has a focus on cooking, particularly Italian cuisine. She believes that food, like family, is best enjoyed gathered around a full table.
