About Bill
Bill Beckert began his path to the law at the University of Connecticut, where he earned a B.A. in 1989. He continued his studies at Western New England University School of Law and received his J.D. in 1993. Those years shaped his understanding of the rules that govern public institutions and private disputes.
He practices in Connecticut and is a member of the local bar. His professional base is Jainchill & Beckert, LLC, where he handles a range of matters for clients in the state. Over the years he has combined work in private practice with roles in public affairs and local government. That mix informs how he approaches cases and client problems.
Beckert maintains an active presence in legal organizations. He belongs to the Connecticut Bar Association and is part of its Young Lawyers Section Ethics group. He is also a member of the Connecticut Trial Lawyers Association. He chairs CTLA’s People’s Law School in Bristol, an outreach program that aims to explain legal processes to the public. Those roles keep him engaged with both professional peers and community legal education.
Local civic life is a recurring theme in his career. Beckert serves on the Farmington Board of Education and participates in several municipal bodies, including the Plan and Zoning Commission, the Inlands and Wetlands Commission, and the Conservation Commission. He is also involved with the Farmington Conservation Committee and the Farmington Rotary. His town work ranges from school governance to land-use issues. It also provides him frequent contact with residents, municipal staff and local officials.
The combination of courtroom-facing memberships and municipal appointments gives him familiarity with administrative hearings, local regulations and the practical realities of town governance. He brings that practical perspective to cases that touch on land use, education matters and other local government concerns. His public-facing roles have also led him to educational programming intended for nonlawyers, where he explains legal procedures and options in plain language.
Colleagues and community members see him as a steady presence in both municipal and legal circles. He balances courtroom work and civic responsibilities and continues to serve on local commissions while maintaining his practice. He currently practices at Jainchill & Beckert, LLC, representing clients in Connecticut.
