About Beti Tsai
Beti Tsai Bergman is a licensed attorney admitted to practice law in the State of California. She was admitted to the California State Bar in 1997. Her license is currently in active status. Ms. Bergman is the founder and principal attorney at Peninsula Law, A Professional Law Corporation, a firm specializing in probate, trusts, estates, conservatorships, and financial elder abuse. The firm is located at 3220 Sepulveda Blvd., Suite 203, Torrance, CA 90505.
Ms. Bergman earned her Juris Doctor degree from the University of California, Davis, School of Law in 1997. During her time at UC Davis, she was a member of the Law Review and participated in various pro bono activities. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at the University of California, Los Angeles, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics in 1988. She furthered her studies with a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics from California State University, Long Beach, graduating with distinction in 1993.
Ms. Bergman's practice areas include estate planning, trust and estate administration, conservatorships, and litigation involving will and trust contests, beneficiary rights, and financial elder abuse. She represents clients at all stages of legal proceedings, from initial consultations and document preparation to complex litigation and appeals. Her extensive experience allows her to navigate the intricacies of probate law effectively, ensuring that clients' interests are well-represented.
Throughout her career, Ms. Bergman has been admitted to practice before several courts, including the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She has also appeared before the Los Angeles County Superior Court in various capacities, including as a volunteer mediator and settlement officer in the Probate Court. Prior to founding Peninsula Law, she served as a Deputy City Attorney for the City of Los Angeles, handling civil litigation matters, and worked as a business litigator in private practice.
Ms. Bergman is an active member of several professional organizations, including the Los Angeles County Bar Association, where she serves on the Trusts & Estates Executive Committee and chairs the Court Liaison Committee. She is also involved with the Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association, having served as past president and chair of the Trial Skills Workshop. Additionally, she is a faculty instructor for the National Institute of Trial Advocacy's Building Trial Skills Program at Loyola Law School. Ms. Bergman is fluent in English and Taiwanese, enabling her to serve a diverse clientele effectively.
