About Bernard
Bernard Rethore completed his undergraduate studies at LeMoyne College in 1985 and earned his J.D. from Dickinson School of Law in 1988. He entered the bar after finishing law school and built a career that spans multiple states and federal courts. His academic path set a steady rhythm for the work that followed.
Rethore moved into firm leadership relatively early. In 1996 he served as managing partner of Graves & Rethore, PC, overseeing the firm’s daily operations and case development. More than a decade later, in 2008, he became a partner at Pfarr & Rethore, A Professional Law Corporation, a role he holds today. Those positions mark long stretches of private practice in both litigation and client counseling.
He is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, Arizona and Connecticut. On the federal side, his admissions include the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the District of Arizona. That mix of state and federal qualifications has allowed him to take cases across different forums and to address procedural and substantive issues that arise at each level.
Rethore’s professional affiliations reflect a range of practice interests. He maintains memberships in the Arizona State Bar, the Pennsylvania State Bar and the Connecticut State Bar. Locally, he is a member of the Maricopa County Bar Association. He also belongs to the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association and the Esperti Peterson Institute for Advance Studies for Estate and Wealth Planning. Those associations suggest engagement with both trial work and estate and wealth planning topics.
Colleagues and clients have seen him move between courtroom work and advisory matters. His practice history includes managing firm matters and serving as a partner guiding litigation strategy. He has handled cases that require familiarity with both state-level procedures and the federal rules that govern district court practice.
Today he practices at Pfarr & Rethore, A Professional Law Corporation. He represents clients in matters brought in state and federal courts in the jurisdictions where he is licensed and participates in professional groups related to trial practice and estate and wealth planning. He currently concentrates his practice on trial litigation and estate and wealth planning.
