About Benjamin A
Benjamin A McBride earned his J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law in 2006. He entered the legal profession in the years that followed and built a practice that moves between public and private roles. The early credential establishes a baseline for a career spent handling contested matters across several forums.
He began his public-service work in prosecution. In 2008 he served as a Senior Assistant Prosecuting Lawyer in the Greene County Prosecuting Lawyer's Office. That role put him in court regularly. It exposed him to trial work, evidence practice, and the demands of county-level criminal litigation.
After more than a few years in public office, McBride shifted back toward private practice. In 2014 he joined Rooney McBride & Smith, LLC as an of counsel lawyer. Two years later he set up his own practice. Since 2016 he has been the owner and principal at McBride Law, formerly known as The Law Office of Benjamin A. McBride, LLC. Operating his own firm gave him direct control over case selection and client relationships.
His bar admissions include Missouri and the Federal Circuit. Those credentials allow him to appear in state courts and to handle certain federal matters. The Federal Circuit admission signals capacity to bring appeals or other federal filings when they arise.
McBride holds memberships in several professional organizations. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Missouri Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, and the Springfield Metropolitan Bar Association. Those affiliations reflect areas of ongoing professional engagement and offer connection to peers who practice in immigration and criminal defense.
The arc of McBride's work runs from prosecutor to private counselor. He argues in court, advises clients on criminal and immigration issues, and files matters in federal court when they are appropriate. He draws on courtroom experience from his years in the prosecutor’s office and on the flexibility that comes from managing his own firm.
Today he practices through McBride Law. His work involves criminal defense, immigration matters, and handling cases that require filings or appearances in federal courts including the Federal Circuit.
