About Ben

Ben Pearce grew up academically rooted in Texas higher education. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Texas at Austin in 2010 and completed his law degree at Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law in 2013. Those years shaped an early interest in public law and the mechanics of courtroom procedure. They also placed him in the Houston legal community at a formative moment in his training.

Fresh out of law school, Pearce spent time inside a busy prosecutor’s office. In 2013 he interned in the Bond Forfeiture Division of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. The placement exposed him to bond hearings, procedural deadlines and the daily cadence of county courtrooms. It was work that offered both courtroom exposure and a close look at how prosecutorial files are developed and resolved.

After that early experience, Pearce remained active in local criminal law circles. He has held membership in the Harris County Criminal Lawyers Association since 2013. A year later he joined the Fort Bend County Criminal Lawyers Association and maintains that affiliation. Those memberships have kept him connected to peers across the Houston metropolitan area and to continuing education opportunities tied to practice in county and district courts.

Pearce is admitted to practice in Texas and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. He has built his practice around the kinds of matters that flow from those jurisdictions. His caseload has included trial and post-trial work, and he handles appellate filings when cases move to federal appellate review. That path mirrors the trajectory of many lawyers who begin with courtroom exposure in local courts and expand into federal appellate work over time.

He practices at Greco Neyland, PC, where he works alongside other lawyers who handle criminal and appellate matters. Colleagues describe him as methodical in preparing court filings and practical when briefing issues for judges. Clients encounter a lawyer who is familiar with the local docket and the procedural rules that govern both trial courts and appellate panels.

Today Pearce’s practice centers on criminal defense and appellate matters in Texas state courts and in proceedings before the Fifth Circuit. He continues to participate in professional associations tied to criminal practice and to take on matters that require both trial experience and appellate familiarity.
