About Ben
Ben Carrasco trained at two of the country’s influential schools. He earned a B.A. in political science from the University of California, Berkeley in 2001. He went on to complete a J.D. at Stanford Law School in 2007. Those years framed a legal path that led him to Texas and to a practice centered on family law.
His early career began at Baker Botts LLP, where he joined as an associate in 2007. The firm offered a large-firm environment and exposure to complex litigation practice. In 2010 he moved to Smith Robertson LLP as an associate, spending the next few years building courtroom experience and handling contested matters. In 2013 he opened his own firm, the Law Office of Ben Carrasco, PLLC, and has led that practice since.
Carrasco became a member of the State Bar of Texas in 2008 and later joined its Family Law Section in 2013. He is Board Certified in Family Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a credential that signals additional training and peer review in the field. That certification shapes how he approaches casework and professional development.
His work covers the core areas of family law. He handles divorce proceedings, child custody and visitation disputes, property division questions and child support matters. He represents clients in contested hearings and negotiated settlements, and he appears in district and county courts across the state. His practice balances courtroom advocacy with efforts to reach practical resolutions where possible.
Colleagues and opposing counsel recognize him for a straightforward style in court and an attention to procedural detail. He tends to combine careful case preparation with direct communication. For many clients, the day-to-day legal steps are as important as outcomes, and his practice reflects that emphasis on process.
Outside the courtroom he maintains ties to the legal community through bar activities and continuing education. The firm he founded operates as a small, locally based office. It handles the steady flow of family law matters typical in Texas practice.
He currently practices family law at the Law Office of Ben Carrasco, PLLC.
