About Ben A.
Ben A. House earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, Davis in 2014 and went on to receive his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2017. His academic path combined social science and law, a background that informs how he approaches client interviews and case strategy. He chose law school after undergraduate study, and his time in Santa Clara exposed him to courtroom procedure and client counseling.
After law school, House began practicing in California and joined the State Bar of California as an active member. He built his early experience handling family law matters, representing clients through negotiations, court hearings and settlement conferences. Those formative years helped him develop practical courtroom skills and a working knowledge of the state’s family law statutes and local court practices.
House serves as an associate lawyer at Daprile-Bell Family Law Offices. In that role he works on a range of domestic relations matters. He prepares pleadings, conducts discovery, takes depositions and appears at hearings. He also assists in drafting settlement agreements and temporary orders. Colleagues describe him as methodical; clients rely on him to lay out options clearly and to explain the likely next steps in a case.
His practice addresses both contested and uncontested matters. He handles divorce cases that involve asset division and support questions. He also represents clients in child custody and visitation disputes where the primary issues are parenting time, decision-making authority and the best interests of the child. House is familiar with urgent relief requests as well, such as emergency custody hearings and temporary support applications.
Outside of courtroom work he spends time preparing clients for mediation and settlement discussions. He coaches clients on documentation and helps set realistic expectations for outcome and timing. He keeps current on changes to California family law through the State Bar and local legal education offerings. That ongoing learning shapes how he approaches case strategy and client communication.
He is admitted to practice in California and maintains an active membership with the State Bar of California. At Daprile-Bell Family Law Offices he represents individuals in divorce, child custody, child support and related family law disputes.
