About Beau
Beau Cross built his legal foundation on two degrees from Texas Tech and an undergraduate liberal arts education. He earned a J.D. and an M.B.A. from Texas Tech University in 2009 and holds a B.A. in communication and history from Southwestern University, completed in 2006. His academic path combined legal training with business study, a combination he has carried into practice.
Cross began his career in a firm setting shortly after law school. In 2010 he joined Burdett, Morgan, Williamson & Boykin, LLP as an associate, where he handled transactional work and client counseling. He moved into leadership roles in the following years. In 2012 he became president of the Panhandle Cancer Cure Foundation, a volunteer position that expanded his community ties. He later served as vice-president of Nexum 1031, LLC in 2015, a role tied to real estate exchange work. In 2017 he established the Law Office of Beau Cross, PLLC and assumed the role of president there.
Licensure in Texas followed his graduation. He has been a member of the State Bar of Texas since 2009 and maintains active standing. He also joined the State Bar’s Real Estate & Probate Section and the Amarillo Area Estate Planning Council in 2010, and he has been part of the Amarillo Area Young Lawyers Association since 2009. Those affiliations reflect the practical areas he has taken on in private practice and community involvement.
Cross holds board certifications from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in two fields: Tax Law and Estate Planning & Probate Law. Those certifications signal concentrated training and testing in those subject areas and inform the mix of matters he handles for clients. Over time his work has included estate planning, probate administration, tax planning and transactional matters tied to real estate, including 1031 exchanges through his involvement with Nexum 1031.
Today Cross leads his own small firm in Amarillo. His practice draws on both legal and business training, and on years spent in firm practice and nonprofit governance. He is known locally for steady casework and for handling the day-to-day legal needs that arise in estate, probate, tax, and real estate matters. He currently practices at the Law Office of Beau Cross, PLLC, where his work centers on estate planning, probate, tax, and real estate matters.
