About Bart

Bart Day practices across multiple state and federal jurisdictions in the western United States. He holds admissions in Washington, Oregon and Hawaii, and is also admitted to the Ninth Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court. Those credentials position him to handle matters that cross state lines and to take cases into the federal appellate system.

Day’s bar admissions reflect a capacity to engage on issues that arise under both state and federal law. Being admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court and the Ninth Circuit is not common among every practitioner, and it allows him to prepare filings and appear in appellate proceedings when matters require appellate briefing or review. His membership in three state bars supports client work that depends on detailed knowledge of distinct local rules and statutes.

Over the course of his career, Day has worked in settings that require coordination across courts and jurisdictions. He has handled filings and procedural work that come with federal appellate practice, along with matters governed by the statutory and procedural frameworks in Washington, Oregon and Hawaii. That mix of admissions means he can assist where litigation transfers among courts or where an appeal reaches the appellate panels that serve the Pacific Coast and the broader Ninth Circuit region.

In practice, attorneys admitted to these courts often manage complex procedural portfolios: drafting appellate briefs, preparing petitions, responding to jurisdictional questions and advising on forum strategy. Day’s admission to the Supreme Court bar additionally enables him to lodge certiorari petitions or other filings when cases present questions suitable for the nation’s highest court. He brings that capability to clients whose matters touch on federal constitutional or appellate issues, as well as to those whose disputes are rooted in state law but potentially subject to federal review.

Colleagues and opposing counsel encounter him across a variety of courtrooms and administrative settings in the Pacific Northwest and beyond. He is equipped to work on matters that require attention to both state-level detail and appellate-level procedure. His practice currently focuses on litigation and appellate matters arising in Washington, Oregon and Hawaii, including federal appellate work before the Ninth Circuit and filings that may be presented to the U.S. Supreme Court.
