About Barry
Barry Ansbacher took the long way in the law, by design. He finished his J.D. at the University of Florida in 1986 and then spent the next decades building a practice rooted in property and construction law. He has worked in private practice since the late 1980s and has remained active in bar work and industry committees along the way.
He began his legal career in 1989 as a lawyer at Ansbacher & Schneider, P.A. Early on he established a presence in Florida’s courts and later gained admission to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and the Federal Circuit. His track record over the years includes litigation, contract work, and counseling related to real estate and development matters.
In 1997 he became a senior shareholder at Ansbacher & Associates, P.A., a role that positioned him to take on larger transactional and litigation matters. Over time his work expanded into condo and planned development issues, construction disputes, and a range of real property matters. He eventually practiced under the name Ansbacher Law, P.A., where he continued to represent owners, developers, associations and contractors on a variety of issues.
Ansbacher holds several Florida Bar certifications. The bar has recognized him in construction law, condominium and planned development law, and real estate law. Those certifications reflect formal specialization in areas frequently governed by detailed statutes, administrative rules and dense contract language.
Professional service has been a steady part of his career. He has been a member of The Florida Bar since 1989 and also belongs to the Jacksonville Bar Association. He served on the Executive Council of The Florida Bar’s Real Property, Probate & Trust Law Section from 1997 to 2010. From 2002 to 2008 he chaired the section’s Real Property Problems Study Committee, a post that involved reviewing issues that affect land use, title and property disputes.
He blends courtroom work and advisory practice. Colleagues and clients often consult him on disputes that arise out of construction projects, condominium governance and commercial real estate transactions. He remains licensed and active in practice and handles construction, condominium and planned development matters as well as general real estate work.
