About Bambi Faivre

Bambi Faivre Walters began her academic life in engineering. She earned a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia in 1992 and added a minor in environmental and water studies. She later turned to law, completing her J.D. at Tulane Law School in 1997.

Her career moved quickly into practice. In 1997 she joined McGlinchey Stafford as an associate lawyer. A year later she shifted toward intellectual property work as a patent associate at Kilpatrick Stockton, LLP. Those early years gave her courtroom-style training and exposure to technology-driven legal matters.

By 2001 Walters took an in-house position as patent counsel at Corning Cable Systems, Inc. There she handled patent matters for a company rooted in fiber optics and communications technologies. The role added corporate IP management to her background in patent prosecution and client counseling.

In 2002 she established her own practice, listed as Bambi Faivre Walters, PC Patent & Trademark Lawyer. She has run that office since, managing daily operations while maintaining an active caseload. Her technical undergraduate degree and law training shape her approach. She reads technical disclosures and patent specifications with an engineer’s eye and then translates them into legal strategies.

Walters’s work includes patent prosecution, trademark registration, and advising clients on intellectual property protection and strategy. She has represented individual inventors and corporate clients. Her practice involves drafting patent applications, responding to office actions, and coordinating prosecution across jurisdictions when necessary. On the trademark side she guides clients through clearance, registration, and maintenance processes.

Colleagues describe her as practical and detail-oriented. She favors clear written work and prefers solving problems through careful analysis rather than broad claims. That style reflects both her engineering training and years practicing IP law in private firm and in-house settings.

Outside of client work she has overseen firm administration and the mentoring of younger lawyers. Running a small IP practice requires balancing case work with business matters, and Walters has taken on both roles.

She currently practices at Bambi Faivre Walters, PC Patent & Trademark Lawyer and concentrates on patent and trademark matters.
