About Ashley
Ashley McCormack earned her law degree from Northeastern University School of Law. She built her practice in Massachusetts after completing her studies, choosing to remain where she had trained. Her education at Northeastern grounded her in both clinic work and classroom instruction, and she took that experience straight into courtroom practice.
Early in her career McCormack worked on a range of criminal matters at the trial level. She learned the rhythms of local courthouses and the procedural demands of state criminal practice. Her work covered arraignments, pretrial hearings, and jury trials. Over time she expanded into related litigation tasks, including motion practice and sentencing hearings.
McCormack’s practice developed around criminal defense. She represents clients in state court across southeastern Massachusetts and beyond. That caseload has included misdemeanors and felonies, as well as certain post-conviction and appellate issues when circumstances required. She handles negotiation and trial work, preparing cases for both plea discussions and contested hearings.
Professionally, McCormack participates in several bar organizations that reflect her regional and substantive interests. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the New Bedford Bar Association, and the Massachusetts Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Those memberships have kept her connected to local court developments and continuing legal education opportunities. Colleagues describe her as someone who attends local bar events and follows legislative and procedural changes affecting criminal practice.
In addition to courtroom work, McCormack spends time preparing written motions and client advisories. She places emphasis on clear communication with clients about options and likely outcomes. She also coordinates with investigators and expert witnesses when cases require additional factual development. Her daily practice involves balancing urgent court dates with the longer-term planning that many criminal cases demand.
She practices from McCormack Law PC, where she handles the firm’s criminal defense docket. The office serves clients across Massachusetts state courts, with a concentration on cases arising in southeastern communities. McCormack continues to accept new matters and represents individuals at all stages of state criminal proceedings. She currently practices criminal defense and related matters at McCormack Law PC in Massachusetts.
