About Ashley
Ashley Applewhite earned her B.A. in International Studies at Texas A&M University in College Station before turning to the law. She completed her J.D. at South Texas College of Law in 2007. Those early years shaped a practice that spans state lines and federal courthouses. She carries the perspective of a liberal arts education into complex legal work.
Her admissions reflect a bi-coastal practice. She is admitted to the bars of Texas and California and holds federal admissions in the Fifth Circuit and in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas. She is also admitted in the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of California. That range allows her to take cases in trial courts and on appeal.
Applewhite serves as the managing lawyer at Applewhite Firm PLLC. In that role she leads the firm’s day-to-day operations and oversees client matters across jurisdictions. She handles litigation logistics, coordinates filings in multiple courts, and directs teams that prepare cases for hearing and trial. The managing lawyer title reflects both casework and administrative responsibility.
Her practice has a clear courtroom dimension. She represents clients in state and federal proceedings and has experience presenting arguments in district courts and in the Fifth Circuit. The work requires attention to varied procedural rules, an ability to respond to fast-moving timelines, and coordination across offices when matters span Texas and California. Those practical demands shape how she prepares cases and advises clients.
Outside the courtroom she maintains ties to the legal community in Austin and Travis County. She is a member of the Austin Bar Association and the Travis County Women Lawyers Association. Through those organizations she participates in local programs and professional networks that connect attorneys across practice areas and career stages.
Colleagues describe her approach as pragmatic; she attends to the technical details of filings while planning for broader case strategy. Clients and courts see someone who manages complex schedules and the procedural work that underpins litigation. She brings that working style to the matters she accepts. Ashley Applewhite currently serves as managing lawyer at Applewhite Firm PLLC. Her practice concentrates on litigation in state and federal courts.
