About Ashley A.
Ashley A. Crowder trained as a psychologist before she went to law school. She earned a B.S. in Psychology from Tulane University in 2009 and then completed her J.D. at Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University in 2012. Her academic record includes practical placements that exposed her to family and juvenile matters early on.
While at Hofstra, she worked in the Juvenile Justice Clinic as an intern in 2012. She also spent time in public service roles, serving as a senior intern at the Nassau County Department of Social Services in 2011. Those experiences added a layer of on-the-ground understanding to her classroom training and informed her approach to client work after graduation.
Her first positions in private practice began immediately after law school. In 2012 she joined Shapiro & Ingle as an associate, then moved to Brady & Kosofsky, PA in 2014. In 2015 she took a role at Arnold & Smith PLLC. Over those years she handled a range of family-related legal matters and developed courtroom and negotiation experience. In 2010 she also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Louis Trosch in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, an experience that offered additional insight into judicial decision-making.
Crowder is a member of the North Carolina State Bar, the North Carolina Bar Association, and the Mecklenburg County Bar Association. She holds certification as a North Carolina Board Certified Family Law Specialist from the North Carolina State Bar. That certification recognizes practitioners who meet particular standards in family law practice and have passed the relevant examination and peer review processes.
Her practice has concentrated on family law and related areas. She has handled matters that include custody, support, divorce proceedings and other family court issues. Her background in psychology and her juvenile clinic work inform how she approaches sensitive cases involving children and parenting plans. Colleagues and clients encounter an attorney familiar with both litigation and negotiation, and who has navigated matters across county courts in North Carolina.
She maintains an office at Arnold & Smith, PLLC in North Carolina where she continues to practice. She currently represents clients in family law matters, including custody, support, and divorce-related proceedings.
