About Arik D.
Arik D. Hetue built his path to law through a mix of social science and economics. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2002, where he studied economics and anthropology. He later completed his legal studies at The John Marshall Law School, receiving his J.D. in 2009.
He began practicing law soon after graduation. In 2009 he worked as a lawyer at Keefe, Campbell, Biery & Associates. That early position gave him exposure to the day-to-day demands of legal practice and the operational side of a law firm. It was a formative stop on a steady professional course.
Hetue is licensed to practice in Illinois and is authorized to appear before the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Those credentials allow him to represent clients in state matters and to handle filings that reach the federal appellate level. He maintains those admissions while running his own practice.
Over time he moved into private practice and established Hetue Law, P.C. He operates from that office and manages both client matters and the administrative responsibilities of a small firm. Colleagues describe him as practical and deliberate; he approaches casework in a straightforward manner and places emphasis on clear communication with clients.
His academic background in economics and anthropology informs how he assesses factual patterns and client needs. The combination of social science and law gives him a perspective that favors careful analysis of evidence and context. He draws on the training from his J.D. program when preparing briefs, addressing procedural issues, and assessing risk for clients.
Outside of court filings and client meetings, he has maintained professional affiliations since entering practice. Those memberships have kept him connected to peers and to developments in the bar. He continues to accept matters through Hetue Law, P.C., where he represents clients in Illinois and handles filings in the Seventh Circuit.
He currently practices at Hetue Law, P.C., representing clients in matters in Illinois and in filings in the Seventh Circuit.
