Ms. Akel is the founder and managing attorney at Akel | Hoff Law & Mediation, APC, a law firm located in San Diego, California. She has been practicing law for over 25 years, serving clients throughout the San Diego area and beyond.
Ms. Akel earned her Juris Doctor degree from Lincoln Law School in 1998. Prior to law school, she completed her undergraduate education at California State University, Long Beach, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in 1993. During her time at Lincoln Law School, she participated in an internship program for a prominent criminal defense attorney in Sacramento, where she developed a passion for defending individuals against federal and state charges and ensuring they receive a fair trial.
Ms. Akel concentrates her practice in the areas of criminal defense and immigration law. She represents clients in matters involving assault and battery, DUI, drug crimes, weapons offenses, theft crimes, white-collar crimes, and domestic violence.
