Her early career moved steadily from private practice into firm leadership. By 1997 she was practicing under the name April Jones Lawyer at Law. Three years later she became the managing lawyer at Jones Law Office, PC. That transition marked a shift toward overseeing client matters and managing the daily operations of a small law firm.
Jones’s work has intersected with family law and related disciplines for much of her career. She served as an instructor at the Colorado School for Family Therapy in 2009, teaching professionals about issues that frequently arise in family court and treatment settings. She has been a member of the Stand Committee on Family Issues since 2014 and holds membership in the Family Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association. Those roles reflect ongoing engagement with the practice and policy of family law in Colorado.
Outside the office she has taken leadership and governance roles in a range of civic and legal organizations. She served as president of the Sam Cary Bar Association and currently serves as diversity chairperson for the Arapahoe County Bar. She has been on the board of the Colorado Women’s Bar and sits on the boards of the University of Colorado Hospital Authority and the American Transplant Foundation, both roles beginning in 2016. Since 2016 she has also served as a commissioner on the Independent Ethics Commission. Her memberships extend to professional groups such as Law-line 9 and the Rhone Bracket Inns of Court, and she contributes to Shine Magazine. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated.
Her trajectory shows a mix of courtroom practice, teaching, committee work and nonprofit governance. She has maintained a steady presence in county and state bar activities while running a private practice. She currently sees clients and manages cases through Jones Law Office, PC. Her current practice concentrates on family law at Jones Law Office, PC.
