About Antoine Dumas

Antoine Dumas Jr. began his legal path in classrooms devoted to ethics and public service. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Theology from Oakwood College and went on to receive his J.D. from Howard University School of Law. Those institutions shaped the early contours of his approach to law and civic life.

After law school, Dumas built a practice that spans state and federal work. He is admitted to practice in Florida and before the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Over the years he has handled matters that touch business clients, entertainers and athletes, and individuals facing complex civil disputes. He has combined courtroom work with transactional matters, often moving between negotiation and litigation as a case required.

Professional association work has been a steady thread in his career. He is a current member of the Black Entertainment & Sports Lawyers Association and the Broward County Bar Association. Since 2017 he has served on the Board of Directors of The Haitian Lawyers Association. He also served as a Fellow of the Business Law Section of the Florida Bar from 2017 through 2019. Those roles have kept him engaged in the practical and policy conversations that affect lawyers and their clients in South Florida and beyond.

Colleagues describe him as pragmatic in the courtroom and exacting in contracts. He has experience drafting agreements for entertainment and sports clients, advising on corporate matters, and representing parties in contested business disputes. He has also worked on immigration-adjacent issues when clients’ personal and professional lives cross borders. That range reflects the mixed demands of a practice based in a diverse metropolitan area.

Dumas maintains a Broward office where he meets with clients and prepares for hearings and negotiations. He splits his time between client consultations, motion practice, and appellate filings when cases move beyond the trial court. He is comfortable building factual records and pressing legal arguments on appeal when necessary.

He has balanced law practice with community involvement and bar activities. Those commitments have shaped his professional network and provided avenues for mentorship and referral. He continues to accept new clients and to represent existing ones in matters at the state and federal levels.

He currently practices in Florida and before the 11th Circuit, maintaining a Broward office, and his practice focuses on business law, entertainment and sports matters, and civil litigation.
