About Anthony
Anthony Tuorto built a legal path that moved from public service to private practice. He earned both a Juris Doctor and a Master of Environmental Law and Policy from Vermont Law School in 2009. Before that he completed a B.A. in English at Appalachian State University in 2004. The dual graduate degrees signaled an early interest in law that intersects policy, even as his career soon steered toward courtroom work.
His practical training began in North Carolina. In 2008 he worked as a legal intern in the Buncombe County Public Defender’s office and followed that with a master’s degree internship at the North Carolina Department of Justice in 2009. Those roles exposed him to both defense and prosecutorial perspectives. He joined the North Carolina State Bar in 2010 and took a post that same year as an Assistant District Lawyer in the Henderson County District Lawyer’s Office, gaining hands-on trial experience.
Tuorto moved into private practice in the next decade. He became a partner at Minick Law, P.C. in 2013 and two years later launched his own firm, Tuorto Law, P.C., in 2015. In private practice he handled litigation and client representation that drew on the courtroom skills he developed as a government lawyer. Colleagues and clients encountered an attorney accustomed to both preparation and argument, and one who had worked on cases from intake through trial.
He maintains active professional ties in the state. Tuorto is a member of the 28th Judicial District and has been a member of the North Carolina Advocates for Justice since 2014. He remains on the rolls of the North Carolina State Bar. His office is located in the Flat Iron Building, where he runs his small firm and meets with clients.
Over the years his work has ranged across public and private sectors, and he has kept a steady presence in North Carolina’s legal community. He now operates Tuorto Law, P.C., handling courtroom representation and client counseling across North Carolina.
