About Anthony R.

Anthony R. Scifo has built a practice rooted in county courts and family law matters. He appears regularly in proceedings across Kane County and is also active in neighboring jurisdictions. His work puts him in frequent contact with judges, court staff and other attorneys, and that familiarity shapes how he approaches cases and court assignments.

Scifo holds multiple court approvals that define much of his day-to-day role. He is a court-approved arbitration judge in Kane County. He is also a court-approved guardian ad litem in the Family Law divisions of Kane, DuPage, Kendall and DeKalb counties. In addition, he is court-approved as a guardian ad litem in Kane County’s Adoption and Probate divisions. Those authorizations allow him to be appointed to evaluate sensitive family and estate matters and offer recommendations to the court when children or vulnerable adults are involved. He is further court-approved as a family law mediator in DuPage, DeKalb and Kendall counties, a role that places him in settlement discussions as an impartial facilitator.

Beyond his courtroom work, Scifo has maintained a steady role in local bar governance and legal publications. He is an active member of the Kane County Bar Association, where he serves as Assistant Editor and chairs the Bar Briefs Committee. He also participates in the Estate & Probate Collegium Committee. Those positions involve managing content for the bar’s newsletter and coordinating committee efforts on probate and estate issues. The roles keep him connected to developments in local practice and to colleagues across multiple practice areas.

Colleagues and judges who appoint him often cite his experience performing court-ordered exams, preparing written reports for the court and guiding parties through mediation sessions. He frequently prepares factual and evaluative reports in adoption, probate and family matters when the court requests an independent voice. The work requires attention to procedure and an ability to explain findings clearly to the court and to parties who may be unfamiliar with legal process.

Scifo continues to work in the counties that have granted him court approvals, combining his case work with his duties as an arbitrator, guardian ad litem and mediator. He currently practices law handling family, probate and estate matters and serves in his court-appointed roles in the counties where he is approved.
