About Anthony
Anthony Matthews is an attorney licensed in Georgia who built his legal foundation at Brigham Young University-Idaho and Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law. He earned a Bachelor of Science in business in 2010 and a J.D. in 2014. Those classroom years gave him a framework for practice and an entry point to the bar in Georgia.
He launched his legal career in the public sector, joining the State of Georgia in 2014. That early work exposed him to procedural practice and the rhythms of public litigation. He moved from that role into private practice instincts, bringing experience from government work into client representation.
In 2017 he became an associate at Waldon Adelman Castilla Hiestand & Prout. There he spent several years on matters that required close case preparation, client intake, and litigation support. In 2020 he joined The Law Offices of Gary Martin Hays & Associates, where he continued to develop courtroom experience and an understanding of trial practice.
Throughout his career Matthews has maintained active memberships in the professional organizations that matter to Georgia lawyers. He has been a member of the State Bar of Georgia since 2014 and joined the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association in 2021. Those affiliations have kept him connected to developments in state law and to a network of peers and opposing counsel.
Today he heads The Matthews Law Office. He draws on years of work across public and private settings in handling the practical demands of cases in Georgia. Colleagues describe him as methodical and attentive to detail, and clients find a straightforward approach in meetings and court preparation. He continues to practice in Georgia courts and focuses his work on representing clients in state court proceedings.
