About Anthony L.

Anthony L. Velasquez built a foundation in public affairs before he ever entered a courtroom. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Administration from The College of New Jersey in 1993. He then pursued graduate study at Rutgers University, completing a Master of Science in Public Policy in 1995. He finished his formal legal training at Rutgers School of Law–Camden, receiving his J.D. in 1997.

Those years of study shaped how he approaches legal problems. The undergraduate work introduced him to government structure and administrative processes. The M.S. program deepened his understanding of policy development and analysis. Law school added doctrinal training and practical skills. Together, the three degrees offered a cross-disciplinary perspective that threads through his professional life.

After law school he entered legal practice. Over time he handled a range of matters that required both legal analysis and an appreciation for policy context. Colleagues and clients have noted that he tends to weigh statutory text and regulatory history alongside case law. He has experience drafting pleadings, preparing written policy analyses and representing clients in settings where law and public policy meet.

Velasquez also spent time working on administrative issues. His graduate training in public policy influenced that work, and he became comfortable explaining complex regulatory frameworks to lay audiences. He has participated in proceedings where procedure and policy intersect, and he has written memoranda that translate technical rules into practical steps.

He has balanced written advocacy with in-person representation. He prepares for hearings with an eye toward both legal precedent and how a decision will operate in practice. His approach is methodical. He values clarity in written work and directness in oral presentation. As of 2026 he continues to practice law and concentrates on matters where legal analysis and public policy intersect.
