About Anthony
Anthony Koester grew up academically oriented and completed his undergraduate degree at St. Lawrence University, receiving a B.A. in 1984. He went on to earn his J.D. from Albany Law School in 1989. Those years set the stage for a steady, practice-driven career in two neighboring state bars.
He entered private practice early, serving as a summer associate in 1988 and then joining Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti as an associate after law school. That first position exposed him to the transactional and regulatory work that would shape the next decades of his career. He moved to Bond Schoeneck & King in 1993, where he continued in associate-level roles and expanded his handling of commercial and property matters.
In 1995 he took on a management role at the Lanigan Firm. As managing lawyer he combined casework with office administration and client counseling. Four years later he became a partner at DILTS & KOESTER Business & Real Estate Law Office Lawyers. The partnership reflected his long-standing involvement in business and real estate law and put him in a position to lead client matters and mentor younger attorneys.
Koester is admitted to practice in both New Jersey and New York. He keeps current through annual continuing legal education requirements administered by the New Jersey and New York bar associations. His bar association activity has been local as well as professional. Since 2014 he has chaired the Seminar Committee of the Hunterdon County Bar Association, arranging programs for practitioners and the bench. He has maintained bar memberships dating back to 1989.
Colleagues describe his work as practical and detail-oriented. He handles commercial transactions, corporate formation and governance, leasing and purchase agreements, and real estate closings. On the litigation side he has been involved in contract disputes and landlord-tenant matters. He spends much of his time drafting agreements, negotiating deals and counseling clients on regulatory requirements tied to property and business operations.
Outside the office he participates in continuing education and occasional bar seminars. His practice reflects decades spent on transactional law and the day-to-day issues that affect small and mid-sized businesses. He now practices at DILTS & KOESTER Business & Real Estate Law Office Lawyers, where he focuses on business and real estate matters.
