About Anthony J.
Anthony J. Vecchio built his legal foundation at Rutgers. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University in 2001 and a J.D. from Rutgers School of Law–Camden in 2005. Those years shaped his early interest in public service and courtroom work.
He entered practice in 2005 with Jacksonville Area Legal Aid, representing clients in civil legal matters. The next year he moved to the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office, gaining trial-room and investigative experience. In 2008 he served as a judicial law clerk to The Honorable Donald G. Collester, Jr., J.A.D., an experience that gave him an inside view of appellate reasoning and courtroom procedure. That same year he took on appointments as Designated Counsel with the State of New Jersey Office of the Public Defender, representing clients in serious criminal matters.
Vecchio launched his own firm in 2009, operating as the Law Offices of Anthony J. Vecchio, LLC. He later took on a public role in municipal justice when he became Municipal Prosecutor for Freehold Township in 2015. Those roles reflect a career that moves between public prosecution, defense work, and municipal law.
He holds membership in both the New Jersey and New York state bar associations and is authorized to practice in those jurisdictions. His background includes time on both sides of the courtroom table: as a prosecutor, as appointed defense counsel, and as an independent practitioner. That mix informs how he evaluates cases and advises clients.
Vecchio’s practice covers criminal defense, municipal court representation, and related civil matters. He often handles arraignments, motions, plea negotiations and trials in state courts. His municipal prosecutor experience gives him practical knowledge of ordinance enforcement, traffic cases, and local court procedures. Clients who have faced criminal charges or municipal violations will find his prior public-defender and prosecutor roles relevant to case strategy and courtroom preparation.
He maintains several by-appointment offices across New Jersey, including locations in Woodbridge, Freehold, Mt. Laurel, Princeton and Jersey City. Those satellite offices are intended to provide regional access while his central practice remains the Law Offices of Anthony J. Vecchio, LLC. He continues to practice law from those offices, handling criminal defense, municipal matters, and related civil litigation.
