About Anthony J.
Anthony J. Kuhn earned his law degree from the University at Buffalo Law School in 2015 after completing undergraduate studies in criminal justice at the State University of New York College at Buffalo in 2011. He moved through formal legal education on a steady path. The degrees are the anchor of a career that blends practice, teaching and public service.
He is admitted to practice in New York and has worked inside both law firm and public-service environments. Early in his career he aligned with organizations that handle military and veterans legal matters, a thread that runs through much of his subsequent work. Those interests informed both his case work and his professional leadership roles.
In 2017 he became managing partner at Tully Rinckey PLLC, a role that added firm leadership to his portfolio of responsibilities. The following year he took on an academic post as an adjunct professor at the University at Buffalo School of Law, teaching law students while maintaining his practice. He has balanced management, classroom time and client matters in overlapping roles.
Kuhn has held a number of committee and board leadership positions related to military service, veterans and national security. He served as chairperson of the Bar Association of Erie County’s Committee for Service and Veterans Legal Issues in 2020. He is chairperson of the Veterans in Economic Transition Conference (VETCON) and, since 2021, has served as chairperson of the National Security Lawyers Association. He joined the New York State Military Discharge Advisory Board in 2018 and remains a member. Those posts reflect sustained involvement in matters that affect service members and veterans.
Beyond legal and policy circles, Kuhn has been active in nonprofit work connected to youth sports and regional service organizations. He has been president of Section Six Kids Wrestling since 2019 and previously served as director of Section Six Youth Wrestling. He also serves as vice president of the NWAA Board, a 501(c)(3) organization, and holds membership in the United States Court of Federal Claims Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.
His professional life is marked by overlapping streams: firm leadership, teaching and civic service on veterans and military discharge issues. He continues to practice in New York while managing firm responsibilities and participating in boards and committees that touch on veterans law, military discharge matters and national security legal questions. He currently practices veterans legal issues and military discharge matters while serving in firm leadership.
