About Anthony J.
Anthony J. Amelio built his academic foundation in Chicago. He earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois 6Chicago in 1997 and completed his Juris Doctor at The John Marshall Law School in 2004. Those years set the stage for a career spent practicing law in Illinois.
After law school, Amelio entered private practice and joined Therman Law Offices, LTD. as an associate lawyer. In that role he has taken on client representation, prepared court filings, conducted legal research and participated in negotiations and hearings. He has worked on matters that require steady courtroom preparation and careful attention to procedural detail.
Colleagues describe his work as methodical and grounded in routine tasks that matter to clients: drafting pleadings, evaluating evidence, and advising on procedural options. He spends significant time preparing case files and coordinating with clients to ensure they understand the next steps. The day-to-day work combines written advocacy with in-person meetings and courtroom appearances when required.
Amelio practices under the laws of Illinois. He has maintained his practice in the state since completing his education. That regional focus means he is familiar with local courts and their procedures. It also means he can move a file forward without the delay that sometimes comes from working across jurisdictions.
Outside of casework, he has developed practical skills that support litigation. Those include client interviewing, witness preparation and the organization of documentary evidence. He also handles settlement discussions when the facts and the law point to negotiated resolution rather than extended litigation.
He is part of the Therman Law Offices, LTD. team, where he serves as an associate lawyer. He continues to work on matters for clients in Illinois, handling litigation and related legal services at Therman Law Offices, LTD.
