About Anthony Hudson
Anthony Hudson Gemma built a legal foundation in Boston classrooms. He earned a B.A. from Boston College in 1984 and a J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1988. He later pursued advanced study in taxation, completing an LL.M. in Taxation at Boston University School of Law.
He has practiced in Massachusetts since earning his J.D. and is admitted to practice before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. In 2006 he took on the title of president at Gemma Law Office, P.C., where he oversees the firm’s matters and its day-to-day operations. His work there draws on years of courtroom and transactional experience in state and federal settings.
Beyond his firm duties, Gemma participates in professional governance and technical committees. Since 2019 he has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association Elder Law Advisory Committee. He also joined the Massachusetts Bar Association Probate Law Section Council in 2019. Those memberships put him in regular contact with colleagues who handle elder law and probate across the state and offer a forum for discussing practical and procedural issues that affect practitioners and clients.
His academic training in taxation shapes a portion of his practice. He handles probate and estate matters that raise tax questions and works on planning problems where state and federal tax rules intersect. He represents clients in document drafting, estate administration, and matters that require coordination between probate proceedings and tax advice. Admittance to the First Circuit means he can represent clients on appeals and in federal tax controversies when matters move beyond the trial level.
Colleagues and clients see him most often on cases involving elder law protections, probate administrations, and estate planning that includes tax considerations. At the firm he balances advisory work with litigation and administrative tasks. He keeps a practical approach to resolving disputes and completing estate administrations, relying on both his long experience in Massachusetts practice and his specialized tax education.
He serves as president of Gemma Law Office, P.C., and maintains a practice that concentrates on elder law, probate and estate matters, and tax-related issues.
