About Anne
Anne Joynt earned her J.D. from SUNY Buffalo Law School in 2005. She finished law school the year she entered private practice and moved quickly into a role that combined client-facing work with courtroom responsibilities. Her legal training at Buffalo set the stage for a career rooted in local institutions and community involvement.
Joynt began her professional career in 2005 as a junior partner at Lipsitz, Ponterio & Comerford, LLC. That early partnership position placed her in the thick of civil litigation practice, where young lawyers often gain intensive trial and case-management experience. Over the years she has maintained ties to the firm environment and to the broader legal community in Western New York.
Outside the office, Joynt has been active in a range of civic and bar organizations. She serves on the Board of Directors for the SUNY Buffalo Law School Alumni Association and holds the vice-presidential role there. She has held leadership posts in the Western New York chapter of the Women’s Bar Association, including serving as chapter president during 2017–2018. Within the Minority Bar Association of Western New York she is the board secretary. Those roles have kept her involved in mentoring, governance and outreach to law students and early-career attorneys.
Her memberships extend to several trial and bar groups: the American Association of Trial Lawyers and the New York State Trial Lawyers Association are among them. She is also a member of the Women’s Bar Association of the State of New York and participates in regional and local civic bodies such as the National Federation for Just Communities of WNY, Inc., the Women’s TAP Fund Steering Committee, the SUNY Geneseo Regional Board of Directors, and the Buffalo & Erie County Public Library Nickel City Professionals Committee. These affiliations reflect a pattern of professional engagement that spans both practice-oriented organizations and community service groups.
Colleagues describe Joynt as someone who balances courtroom work with active board service. She has taken on administrative and leadership duties in multiple organizations while maintaining a practice that requires courtroom preparation and client work. Her business and civic roles intersect; she often appears at industry panels, alumni events and local board meetings.
She currently practices law in New York at Lipsitz & Ponterio, LLC.
