About Ankur
Ankur Shah earned a B.S. in Economics and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin–Madison in 2004. He continued his studies at the University of Minnesota Law School and received his J.D. in 2007. Those years on campus combined social science and legal training in ways that shape how he approaches cases and legal questions today.
Soon after law school Shah secured admission to practice in Illinois and Wisconsin and gained the right to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. Those admissions opened both state and federal doors. He has used them to pursue matters that require courtroom advocacy and appellate briefing.
Shah’s work has centered on litigation in trial and appellate settings. He handles pleadings, motions, and appellate briefs, and appears in court for hearings and oral argument. He also prepares records and legal analyses for appeals in the Seventh Circuit and in state appellate courts. His practice places him in both trial-level proceedings and appellate review.
He maintains current membership in professional associations that serve lawyers across his jurisdictions. That involvement keeps him connected to bar developments and procedural changes in Illinois, Wisconsin, and federal practice. It also provides regular contact with colleagues who practice in trial courts and on appeal.
Shah practices from Shah Legal Representation. At the firm he manages case preparation, client counseling related to litigation strategy, and appellate submissions. He works with clients on matters that require courtroom presence as well as written advocacy, and he guides litigation from initial pleadings through possible appeals.
As of 2026 he continues to practice at Shah Legal Representation, handling litigation and appellate matters in state and federal courts.
