About Angie

Angie DiPietro earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Hood College in 1993. She continued her legal education at the University of Baltimore School of Law and received her J.D. in 1996. Her academic path set up a straightforward trajectory into public service and courtroom practice.

She began her career in the public arena when she joined the Wicomico County State’s Lawyer’s Office in 1997. That early role exposed her to the prosecutorial side of criminal law and to the pressures of courtroom work. She remained engaged in public-sector litigation over the next decade and took a position with the Office of the Public Defender in Maryland in 2004 as an Assistant Public Defender. That move shifted her work from prosecution to defense and gave her extended hands-on experience representing clients in criminal matters.

In 2008 she opened The Law Office of Angela B. DiPietro, LLC. Establishing a private practice marked a new chapter. She combined the perspectives she had gained on both sides of the courtroom. The firm’s caseload reflects that dual background and her comfort with contested proceedings.

Her professional experience spans criminal law and trial practice. Early prosecutorial work taught evidence handling, witness preparation and the mechanics of trial. Years as a public defender added client counseling, case investigation and in-court advocacy to her skill set. Those years in public offices also meant working under tight deadlines and on heavy dockets, often managing multiple matters at once.

Colleagues and clients describe her work style as direct and pragmatic. She prefers clear explanations over legal jargon and aims to give clients a realistic view of the options before them. That practical approach shapes how she evaluates plea offers, prepares for hearings and presents cases to judges and juries.

Outside of court, she oversees the administrative side of her firm. Managing a small practice requires balancing casework with supervising support staff, calendaring deadlines and maintaining client communications. Her practice has evolved over time, but courtroom work remains central.

She maintains her law practice in Maryland and continues to represent clients through The Law Office of Angela B. DiPietro, LLC, handling criminal defense and related matters.
