Angela Dickerson Nickel was an attorney based in Seguin, Texas, with a remarkable career spanning over 27 years. Her expertise encompassed various legal fields, including business law, family law, probate, real estate, and creditor's rights. In addition to her litigation work, she handled transactional matters such as small estate drafting, real estate transactions, and contract negotiations. Notably, from 2000 to 2009, Angela served as the Seguin City Attorney, where she was instrumental in navigating complex legal issues for the city. Furthermore, she held the position of attorney for the Seguin Economic Development Corporation, overseeing all economic development matters and contributing to the city's growth. Angela earned her Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Texas at Austin in 1983.

She then pursued her Juris Doctor at the University of Houston, graduating in 1990. Her commitment to public service and governance led her to further her education with a Master of Public Affairs from the Lyndon B. Johnson School of Public Affairs at the University of Texas at Austin in 1995. This advanced degree gave her the skills necessary to effectively serve her community and handle the details of public policy. Throughout her career, Angela was deeply involved in the Seguin community, reflecting her commitment to local development and social welfare. She served on the boards of several organizations, including the Guadalupe Valley Children’s Advocacy Center and the Seguin Conservation Society.

Her leadership extended to the Seguin Noon Rotary, where she was an active member, and the Guadalupe County Humane Society. Angela also held the position of president at the Seguin-Guadalupe County Heritage Museum, promoting local history and culture. In addition to her board roles, Angela contributed to the community as a Planning and Zoning Commissioner for the City of Seguin. Her involvement with the Zonta Club of Seguin and the Seguin Hispanic and Area Chambers of Commerce further demonstrated her dedication to fostering local business and community initiatives. Angela was also pro bono counsel to the Guadalupe Valley Habitat for Humanity, showcasing her commitment to providing legal assistance to those in need. Angela passed away peacefully at her home in Seguin on October 18, 2021, after a long battle with cancer.

She was survived by her daughter, Georgia Claire Dickerson, her mother, Virginia Keys Hughes, and her brother, Jeffrey S. Dickerson, among other family members. Angela's impact on the Seguin community and her contributions to the legal profession continue to resonate, leaving a lasting legacy through the many lives she touched in both her professional and personal endeavors.
