About Andy
Andy Hale came of age in the 1980s legal world. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1984 and earned a J.D. from the University of Illinois College of Law in 1987. Those early academic years set the stage for a long career that spans multiple states and several decades.
After law school, Hale built a practice that reached beyond a single jurisdiction. He is admitted to practice in Illinois, Florida and California and maintains active membership in each state bar. His career has evolved through changing laws and shifting client needs. Over time he moved into leadership roles within his firm and took on broader management responsibilities.
In 2019 he became owner of Hale & Monico. That step formalized a role he had already been playing: overseeing client work while guiding the firm’s operations. Ownership brought administrative duties and strategic choices on where the firm would invest time and resources. It also placed him squarely in the position of balancing casework with running a business.
Colleagues describe Hale as steady and practical. He prefers direct legal work to grand gestures. He emphasizes clear communication and predictable process. Clients benefit from that approach when cases require patience and consistent attention. Over the years he has handled matters under the differing rules and procedures of three state systems, which has shaped how he prepares cases and manages deadlines.
Hale’s bar memberships include the State Bar of Illinois, the State Bar of Florida and the State Bar of California. He keeps those memberships current. That allows him to accept matters and counsel clients across state lines. It also requires staying current on continuing legal education and on developments in three separate regulatory environments.
His practice today is based at Hale & Monico, where he combines casework and firm leadership. He continues to represent clients in the jurisdictions where he is licensed and to oversee the firm’s legal work and administration. He now practices at Hale & Monico, handling matters across Illinois, Florida and California.
