About Andrew Stephen
Andrew Stephen Kucera followed a steady, practical path into law. He combined business training and years in the field before earning a J.D. in 2013. That background informs how he approaches clients and cases.
Kucera earned a Bachelor of Arts in economics in 1997 from California State University - San Diego State University after beginning studies in 1994. He returned to graduate school at California State University - Fresno, completing an MBA in management in 2005 after starting that program in 2001. He then attended San Joaquin College of Law, where he took classes from 2009 through 2013 and received his juris doctor in 2013.
His work life began outside a courtroom. Kucera became owner of Valley Vista Properties in 2004 and ran that enterprise while pursuing further education and professional roles. He also taught LSAT preparation for Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions in 2008, an early engagement that placed him on both sides of the academic and admissions processes.
After law school he moved into legal practice and legal education almost simultaneously. He served as an adjunct professor at San Joaquin College of Law in 2013, then worked as an associate at Cuttone & Associates in 2014. In 2015 he founded Clovis Law Group LLP and took on the role of partner. He later returned to teaching as an adjunct instructor at Clovis Community College in 2017.
Kucera has also been involved in pro bono supervision. In 2019 he served as supervising lawyer for the pro bono program at Central California Legal Services. That role placed him in contact with public interest work and the operational side of running volunteer legal assistance programs.
He is admitted to practice in California and in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California, allowing him to appear in both state and federal settings. His professional portfolio blends private practice, business ownership, and teaching, and it reflects sustained ties to the Central California legal community.
Kucera practices through Clovis Law Group LLP and continues to oversee Valley Vista Properties while handling matters in California courts and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California.
