About Andrew S.

Andrew S. Groher earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia in 1974 and completed his J.D. at the University of Connecticut School of Law in 1978. His education set the stage for a lengthy career in Connecticut courts and in the federal appellate arena. Groher's academic background combines a liberal arts foundation with four years of legal training that concluded in the late 1970s.

After law school Groher entered practice in Connecticut. He is admitted to practice in Connecticut and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Over decades of practice he has handled matters at both state and federal levels, drawing on courtroom experience and procedural familiarity that come from long-term work in those forums.

Groher has spent a significant portion of his career associated with the law firm RisCassi & Davis. At that firm he has been involved in litigation and courtroom matters, working on cases that took him through trial courts and into appellate proceedings where appropriate. Colleagues describe him as steady in litigation settings and careful with appellate briefing and argument preparation.

Outside the courtroom Groher has remained connected to the legal community. He holds memberships in professional organizations and participates in events and continuing legal education that keep him current on evolving case law and procedural developments. That engagement supports his practice and helps maintain the connections lawyers need for effective representation.

Clients and peers often point to his long tenure in practice as a practical advantage. Decades in the field have exposed him to shifting legal landscapes and a variety of civil matters. He has repeatedly worked on cases that require navigating both state rules and federal appellate procedures, and he has experience preparing the record and briefing for higher court review.

Groher's work style is deliberate. He approaches litigation with an emphasis on thorough preparation and clear presentation. In appellate matters he focuses on crafting concise arguments grounded in the trial record and governing precedent.

As of 2026 he continues to practice law in Connecticut and appears in both state courts and the federal appeals court for the Second Circuit, representing clients in matters that proceed through trial and, when necessary, appellate review.
