About Andrew L

Andrew L Stevens began his legal path after a decade in law enforcement. He attended the University of Detroit Mercy School of Law beginning in 2010 and earned his J.D. in 2014. The shift from policing to practicing law shapes how he approaches cases. He brings an understanding of investigations and public safety to his courtroom work.

His earliest legal role came immediately after law school. In 2014 he worked as a litigation lawyer at Nash, Spindler, Grimstad & McCracken. Two years later he took a litigation position at Landry, Mazzeo & Dembinski. Those positions kept him in the trenches of contested cases. He handled pleadings, motions and courtroom appearances while building procedural experience.

Before law school, Stevens served as a police officer in 2003 with the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department. That chapter gave him frontline exposure to criminal process, evidence gathering and interactions with prosecutors and defense counsel. It also gave him a practical sense of how investigations unfold, which he later applied to civil and litigation matters as an attorney.

Stevens is admitted to practice in both Wisconsin and Michigan and holds membership in the State Bar of Wisconsin. His professional affiliations reflect a practice that spans two states and the procedural rules that govern each. Over the years he has moved between firm environments and courtroom work, balancing client needs against deadlines and local practices.

Colleagues describe him as steady in litigation settings and thorough in preparation. He has worked on matters that require detailed record review and contested hearings. His background allows him to bridge perspectives between clients, investigators and other lawyers in multi-jurisdictional matters.

Now based in the Midwest, Stevens continues his litigation career. He handles cases that require motion work, discovery strategy and trial preparation across Wisconsin and Michigan. His practice draws on his combined experience in law enforcement and civil litigation. He currently focuses his practice on civil litigation matters in Wisconsin and Michigan.
