About Andrew Jason
Andrew Jason Proto graduated from the State University of New York at Brockport in 1992 with a B.S. in criminal justice and political science. He continued his legal studies at Western New England University School of Law, earning his J.D. in 1996. At law school he concentrated on criminal law and family law, areas that would shape his career. Those academic choices provided a foundation for courtroom work and client counseling that he would pursue for decades.
After law school Proto entered practice in New York. He holds admission to practice in New York and is admitted to practice before the Federal Circuit. He was admitted to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York in 2006 and remains active there. He is a member of the Westchester County Bar Association and the New York State Defenders Association. He also belongs to the New York State Bar, which supports his work in state courts across the region.
Proto is a partner at Proto, Sachs & Brown, LLP. In that role he has handled matters arising in both criminal and family law. He represents clients in state criminal proceedings and appears for matters in federal court when required. His undergraduate studies in criminal justice and political science inform his approach to cases that blend legal and factual complexity.
