About Andres
Andres Tomey studied political science at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and finished his undergraduate degree in 2015. He went on to earn his Juris Doctor from Campbell Law School in 2020, completing the law program that followed his undergraduate studies. His academic path combined an interest in public affairs with formal legal training, giving him a grounding in both theory and practice.
After law school, Tomey entered legal practice in North Carolina. He is admitted to practice in the state and joined Matheson & Associates PLLC as a lawyer. At the firm he developed practical experience handling client matters under North Carolina law. Colleagues describe him as attentive to procedural detail and steady under deadlines.
Tomey’s day-to-day work involves researching statutory and case law, preparing filings, and communicating with clients and opposing counsel. He spends time in the office drafting briefs and motions. He also meets with clients to explain legal options and to set realistic expectations about timing and outcomes. His training at Campbell Law School informed his approach to legal analysis and courtroom procedure.
He maintains memberships in professional associations and participates in local legal community activities. Those affiliations provide access to continuing legal education and to peer resources for complex questions. He has used those resources to stay current on changes in North Carolina law and on procedural developments that affect practice in state courts.
Outside of client matters, Tomey has invested time in developing practical litigation and transactional skills. He learned early to balance the demands of case preparation with the need to keep clients informed. The result is a practice that emphasizes clear communication and orderly case management. He currently practices at Matheson & Associates PLLC, representing clients under North Carolina law.
