About Andrea R.
Andrea R. Kim took a circuitous route into the courtroom, combining two undergraduate degrees with a three-year law program that culminated in a J.D. in 2013. She earned dual B.A. degrees in Criminal Justice and Political Science from Washington State University, Pullman, in 2009, then moved to Seattle University School of Law where she completed her law degree in 2013.
Her practical training began while she was still a student. In 2009 she interned at Associated Counsel for the Accused, gaining early exposure to client intake and trial preparation. A judicial externship for The Honorable Wesley St. Clair followed in 2012, and in 2013 she served as an extern for the Federal Defender, work that introduced her to federal practice and the defense side of criminal law.
After law school, she joined Feldman and Lee as an associate lawyer in 2013. That position was her first post-bar role in private practice and it involved routine litigation tasks and courtroom appearances. In 2016 she took on a leadership role as lead partner of the criminal law department at Choi Capital Law. The next year she returned to an associate position at Gause Law Offices, where she continued to handle criminal cases and trial work.
Over the years Kim has maintained steady ties to professional groups that center on criminal defense and local bar matters. She has been a member of the Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers since 2013 and has also belonged to the Washington Defender Association and the King County Bar Association since 2013. She was a member of the Snohomish County Bar Association from 2013 to 2016.
Her work history reflects a steady orientation toward defense practice, both at the misdemeanor and felony levels and in federal matters that she encountered as an extern. She has experience in case investigation, courtroom advocacy and pretrial strategy. Colleagues describe her as thorough in trial preparation and methodical in managing case files and client communications.
Kim practices in Washington and currently operates out of ARK Law, PLLC. She continues to represent clients in criminal matters and handles both trial and pretrial stages of criminal defense work.
