About Andrea

Andrea Ciobanu built a legal path that blends courtroom work, teaching and mediation. She completed a CLEO Fellowship certification at the University of Notre Dame in 2007 and went on to earn her J.D. from Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2010. While still early in her career she returned to her law school as a moot court judge, a role she has maintained since 2010.

Her first recorded work after law school included speaking and lecturing for the Indianapolis Bar Association in 2010. The next year she founded Ciobanu Law, P.C., opening a private practice. That same period saw her engage with the Indiana legal community in other ways. She joined several professional organizations in 2010, including the American Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, the Indianapolis Bar Association and the Marion County Bar Association.

In 2012 she took on a consulting role for the Indiana Supreme Court and completed the Indiana State Bar Association’s Leadership Development Academy. Her interest in dispute resolution is backed by a certification in Public Policy Mediation from Indiana University School of Law–Indianapolis and membership in The Indiana Association of Mediators.

Ciobanu’s involvement with pro bono work and access-to-justice efforts emerged publicly in 2013 when she joined the board of the Indiana Pro Bono Commission, a position she continues to hold. She also maintains membership in the American Indianapolis Inn of Court, and she remains active in local bar groups and trial lawyer circles. The variety of affiliations reflects a mix of professional development, teaching and civic engagement rather than a narrow professional trajectory.

Colleagues and clients know her for combining advocacy with alternative dispute resolution. Her work has ranged from courtroom representation to serving as a mediator and advisor on policy and procedural matters. She has kept one foot in legal education through ongoing involvement with her alma mater’s moot court program and through occasional lectures at bar events.

Ciobanu is licensed to practice in Indiana and has run her firm since 2011. Her career shows a steady pattern of public service, professional involvement and private practice. Her current practice at Ciobanu Law, P.C. centers on representing clients and providing mediation services.
