About Andrea
Andrea Brown grew up studying literature and business before turning to law. She earned a B.A. from Southern Methodist University in 1999 and later completed her J.D. at the same school. Her academic path combined writing and analysis with practical study of law, providing a foundation for courtroom work and civic involvement.
Her legal career began in public service. In 2007 she joined the Taylor County District Lawyer's Office as an assistant district lawyer. That early work gave her steady courtroom exposure and everyday experience on the prosecution side of criminal matters. She moved to the Tulsa County District Lawyer's Office in 2010, again serving as an assistant district lawyer.
Between those district attorney positions she spent time on a political campaign as a campaign coordinator in 2009. The role broadened her experience in public affairs and client-facing communication. Returning to prosecutorial work in Tulsa County, she continued to build procedural knowledge and courtroom skills during her time there.
By 2019 Brown had shifted partly into private practice. Records show she worked as a lawyer at Berlin Law Office, PLLC and at Swab Stall Horton Fu, P.A. in the same year. Those roles placed her in a mix of advocacy settings, moving from government offices to firm practice and handling a variety of matters for clients in both contexts.
Brown maintains memberships in several professional groups. She is listed as a member of the National Academy of Criminal Defense Lawyers and the Hudson Hall Wheaton Inn of Court. She serves on the Downtown YMCA Board of Advisors and holds roles in local legal organizations, including the Abilene Bar Association, where she has been treasurer. Her affiliations also include the American Bar Association, the Texas District and County Lawyers Association, the Abilene Young Lawyers Association, and Abilene Leaders of Tomorrow.
Continuing education has been a recurring part of her professional development. She completed the 27th and 30th Annual Crimes Against Children Conferences and took part in the Oklahoma Child First: Finding Words program. Those trainings are reflected in her casework and courtroom practice over the years.
She is licensed to practice in Texas and Oklahoma and currently works out of Swab Stall Horton Fu, P.A. She practices at Swab Stall Horton Fu, P.A., and is licensed to practice in Texas and Oklahoma.
