About Amy Lee
Amy Lee Lipman-White trained in Massachusetts. She completed a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1981 and earned her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in 1987. Her education placed her in the Boston legal community at a time when bankruptcy law was growing in complexity and public attention.
She is admitted to practice in Massachusetts and before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the First Circuit. Over the years she has maintained a practice centered on bankruptcy work and related matters. Her courtroom appearances and filings have been in state and federal venues that handle insolvency and restructuring issues.
Her practice has included work for individual debtors and for small businesses facing financial distress. She handles case intake, prepares petitions and schedules, and represents clients at hearings. Colleagues describe her as steady in the courtroom and careful in preparing the paperwork that bankruptcy procedures require. She has balanced client representation with the procedural demands of the federal bankruptcy system.
Community and professional involvement has been a steady part of her career. She belongs to the Boston Bar Association and is active in the American Bankruptcy Institute. She is a member of ProVisors. Beginning in 2020 she took on the role of secretary for the Boston Bar Association Pro Bono Bankruptcy Committee COVID-19 Response Sub-Section, a group that organized resources and guidance during a time of heightened need for legal assistance. That role reflects sustained engagement in pro bono and committee work tied to bankruptcy issues.
She practices from the Law Office of Lipman & White. The office handles consumer and business bankruptcy matters and provides counsel through the stages of filing and discharge. Her work remains centered on bankruptcy practice and related client counseling in Massachusetts and before the federal bankruptcy court for the First Circuit.
