About Amira Vicari

Amira Vicari Hills built a legal foundation at two Michigan schools. She earned a B.A. from the University of Michigan in 2006 and completed her J.D. at Western Michigan University Cooley Law School in 2010. Those years set the stage for a practice rooted in Illinois courts and federal filings.

After law school, Hills returned to the Midwest and began work in private practice. Her early years in the profession involved navigating both state and federal procedures. She developed familiarity with litigation drafting and courtroom protocols, gaining practical experience that carried through successive positions.

Hills joined Vonachen, Lawless, Trager & Slevin, where she has handled client matters across a range of issues in Illinois. At the firm she has worked on cases that require coordination between local courts and federal forums. Colleagues note she is methodical in preparing filings and attentive to procedural detail when matters move between jurisdictions.

Her admissions include the Illinois bar and the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois. Those credentials allow her to represent clients in state court and to file federal actions in the Central District. That combination is useful for disputes that begin in state proceedings and later involve federal claims or removal questions.

Hills balances litigation responsibilities with case management tasks that keep matters moving. She handles discovery, motion practice and hearings, and she stays engaged through trial preparation when cases progress that far. Her current work at Vonachen, Lawless, Trager & Slevin involves matters in Illinois state courts and in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of Illinois.
