About Ameen Y.
Ameen Y. Behbahani built his path to law across three Texas and Oklahoma campuses. He completed a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science at the University of Houston in 2013. He then earned a Master of Arts in Alternative Dispute Resolution from Southern Methodist University in 2016. He finished his legal training at Oklahoma City University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2020.
His early post-graduate years included roles that mixed administrative responsibilities with hands-on legal work. In 2018 he served as a PROS Mediation Specialist for the Administrative Office of the Courts at the Supreme Court of Oklahoma. That role placed him inside court operations and exposed him to dispute resolution processes on an institutional level. The following year he worked as a legal intern at the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, where he handled research and administrative tasks that supported agency counsel.
Those positions reflected an interest in mediation and court procedure that predates his bar practice. He also holds a mediation certification from Southern Methodist University, a credential that ties back to his graduate study. The certification informed his work as a mediation specialist and continues to inform how he approaches case intake, client discussions, and settlement options.
He now practices as a lawyer at Gies Law Office, P.L.L.C. His role there involves client counseling and courtroom work. Colleagues say he brings the procedural knowledge he gained in court administration into private practice. He handles filings and hearings, and he draws on mediation techniques when cases lend themselves to negotiated resolution. He has remained based in Oklahoma since law school and continues to serve clients in that jurisdiction.
Behbahani maintains memberships in professional associations and participates in local legal communities. He has combined public-sector internships and court administration experience with private-practice responsibilities, creating a practice style that balances litigation readiness and alternative dispute resolution tools. He is currently practicing at Gies Law Office, P.L.L.C., and uses his mediation training in his legal work.
