About Amanda Lingold
Amanda Lingold Spencer has spent more than two decades working in Mississippi’s legal community. She built her foundation in accounting before turning to law. That background informs how she approaches client matters and casework.
She earned a Bachelor of Arts in accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi in 1997. She then completed her Juris Doctor at Mississippi College School of Law in 2000. Those credentials preceded a sequence of roles that moved her between public service and private practice.
Her early legal work began in private practice. In 2004 she served as an associate at Lingold Law Office, PLLC. The next year she joined MacNeill & Buffington, P.A. as an associate and also took on a public role in Rankin County. In 2005 she served as a prosecutor in the Rankin County Youth Court, handling matters that brought her into the courtroom and into contact with juvenile procedures and local court systems. That mix of prosecutorial duties and civil practice gave her a broad view of procedural work in Mississippi.
In 2012 she became a partner at Lingold & Spencer, PLLC. As a partner she has split time between courtroom work and the responsibilities of managing client files and firm operations. Colleagues and opposing counsel have encountered her in hearings and pretrial conferences. Her legal work reflects an emphasis on practical problem solving. She tends to frame matters in concrete terms, translating legal issues into financial and procedural consequences for clients. Her accounting training often surfaces in how she prepares cases and evaluates settlements.
Spencer’s career path shows steady movement through both the public sector and private practice. That continuity across roles has kept her connected to Mississippi courts and local practitioners. She continues to practice law in Mississippi and manages the day-to-day work at Lingold & Spencer, PLLC. Her current practice focuses on representation in matters arising under Mississippi law.
