About Amanda Howell

Amanda Howell Castillo combines a business education and a later legal training to run a small practice in Tennessee. She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Business Administration and Finance from Middle Tennessee State University in 2009. She went on to complete a Juris Doctor at Nashville School of Law in 2019.

After finishing law school, Castillo moved directly into private practice. In 2019 she established AHC Lawyer at Law, PLLC and has served as its principal since then. The firm name reflects her initials and her decision to build a solo practice rather than join a larger firm. That choice has allowed her to handle cases from start to finish and to keep direct contact with clients.

Castillo is licensed by the Tennessee State Bar and also holds credentials to appear in federal court. She is admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Those admissions allow her to represent clients in both state and federal forums in the region she serves.

Her background in business and finance informs how she approaches legal matters. Clients encounter legal problems that often have financial and operational consequences. Castillo’s undergraduate studies give her tools to parse financial records and consider economic factors when framing legal strategies.

Day-to-day she manages the practical demands of running a small law office. That includes client intake, drafting pleadings and motions, and appearing in court when the matter requires it. The model she follows emphasizes personal attention; clients typically work directly with her rather than through multiple layers of firm staff.

She has kept the practice centered in Tennessee and handles matters that fall within the jurisdictional reach of the state courts and the federal district where she is admitted. The office structure is lean, which means Castillo balances litigation tasks with the administrative responsibilities of firm ownership.

Colleagues describe her approach as straightforward and meticulous. She tends to prioritize clear communication and careful review of documents. That method serves clients who need practical assessments of risk and options for resolving disputes.

She currently practices at AHC Lawyer at Law, PLLC, where she represents clients in matters pending in Tennessee courts and in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee.
