About Amanda
Amanda Altman built her legal foundation in the Midwest. She earned a Bachelor of Science in psychology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2002. She then attended Saint Louis University School of Law, completing her J.D. in 2007 after several years of study and practical legal internships.
Early in law school Altman sought hands-on courtroom experience. She worked as a legal intern at Legal Services of Eastern Missouri in 2003, served in the Missouri State Public Defender’s Office as an intern in 2005, and spent a term in 2006 as a judicial intern for a circuit court judge in St. Louis. Those formative positions exposed her to client advocacy, courtroom procedure, and the day-to-day realities of public-interest practice.
After law school she joined the Missouri State Public Defender in 2007. As a public defender she handled a range of criminal matters, representing indigent clients in trial and plea settings. That period accounted for substantial trial and courtroom time and created a base of litigation experience that has shaped her later work.
Altman later transitioned to private practice. In 2018 she became part of Nahon, Saharovich & Trotz Personal Injury Lawyers. At that firm she has practiced on behalf of people injured in accidents and other civil matters. Her admissions include state bars in Illinois and Missouri, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Illinois and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri, permitting her to appear in both state and federal court systems.
She maintains membership in The Missouri Bar. That ongoing affiliation reflects a continuing connection to the professional community in which she trained and worked. Her career arc runs from public service to private advocacy, and the records of internships and early employment point to a steady accumulation of courtroom experience.
Colleagues and clients have noted her steady presence in case preparation and litigation. She has been involved in case intake, discovery, negotiation, and trial work at various stages of her career. Her background combines public defender trial experience with years spent at a firm devoted to personal injury matters.
Altman currently practices at Nahon, Saharovich & Trotz Personal Injury Lawyers, where she concentrates her practice on personal injury matters.
