About Alyssa Michelle
Alyssa Michelle Levine built a foundation in public policy before she turned to the law. She earned a B.A. in Public Policy and Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2006. She then pursued graduate study at the University of Massachusetts–Boston, completing a Graduate Certificate in Women and Politics & Public Policy in 2010. Levine completed her legal training at North Carolina Central University School of Law, receiving her J.D. in 2013.
Her early legal work came immediately after law school. In 2013 she served as an intern at the North Carolina Court of Appeals, a role that exposed her to appellate procedure and the practical demands of written advocacy. That same year she worked as a consulting lawyer for two Charlotte-area firms, Fisher Law Group PLLC and Goodman, Carr, Laughrun, Levine & Greene, P.A., handling discrete matters as part of project-based engagements.
Levine’s academic background in public policy and political science informs how she approaches legal problems. Coursework and graduate study in women and politics gave her an additional lens on law and governance. Those experiences contribute to a practice that pays attention to statutory detail and to the policy implications of legal decisions.
Her career path mixes courtroom-adjacent experience and short-term legal consulting. The appellate internship sharpened her drafting and research skills. The consulting roles required quick assessment of client needs and practical legal solutions. Colleagues describe her work as careful and methodical, focused on producing clear records and persuasive written work when required.
Levine maintains an office in the Historic John Price Carr House in Charlotte. The location places her among a concentration of small firms and solo practitioners in the city’s legal community. She is licensed to practice in North Carolina and continues to build a practice grounded in her education and early legal experiences.
Outside of client work she stays connected to the policy subjects that shaped her studies. Her background in public policy and political science continues to influence how she evaluates cases and advises clients. She currently practices law in North Carolina, operating out of an office at the Historic John Price Carr House.
