About Alyson Rebecca

Alyson Rebecca Marcucio earned her J.D. from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2005 and later completed an LL.M. in Taxation at Boston University School of Law. Those credentials shaped the two strands that run through her work: tax law and elder law. She pairs academic training in tax with practical work on estate and elder-care issues.

She is admitted to practice in both Connecticut and New York. Over time she has built a practice that brings tax analysis into everyday client problems. Her legal activity includes advising on estate planning documents, tax implications of transfers, and issues that arise as clients age and require counsel on benefits and care arrangements.

Marcucio has been active in professional organizations that reflect those interests. She holds current memberships in the Connecticut Bar Association, the New York Bar Association and the American Bar Association. She belongs to the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys and participates in the Western Connecticut Estate Tax Planning Council. Her peers elected her to serve as president of the Greater Danbury Bar Association for the 2021–2022 term, a role that involved coordinating local bar activities and outreach to the legal community.

Beyond bar associations, she has taken on roles in the nonprofit sector. She serves on the board of directors for the Western Connecticut Area Agency on Aging and participates on the development committee for RVNA Health. Those positions have kept her connected to the practical, community-level concerns that intersect with legal advice for older adults and their families.

Her LL.M. in Taxation informs how she approaches planning. She explains tax consequences clearly and helps clients weigh options for minimizing tax exposure while preserving resources for long-term care. She also assists clients with the administrative steps that follow planning decisions, such as probate submissions and interactions with government benefit programs.

Colleagues and community partners see her as a lawyer who combines technical training with steady involvement in local institutions. She balances scholarly grounding in tax law with the procedural work elder law often demands. Her current practice focuses on elder law, estate planning and tax matters.
